The Rosalie Shire Historical Society Inc. is committed to preserving and maintaining the history of the former Rosalie Shire area and its residents. The museum contains numerous displays and items of the rural lifestyles of the local districts and towns, including machinery and equipment to be restored. The society also gathers family histories, newspaper clippings and photographs of yesteryears.

The Museum consists of two large corrugated iron sheds. Items displayed include various heavy agricultural machinery and other equipment relating to the early rural dairy industries. The museum also includes many glass-case displays featuring early rural domestic items such as crockery, glassware, cottage industries and bric-a-brac. There is a growing collection of recorded oral histories from early residents of the area.

Recent publications available for access include “Carriers, Mailmen and Bush Telegraph” - the story of cream carters of the early Goombungee dairy industry. And “Pioneers in Petticoats” traces the life of early female residents to the area.
